Swim Meet Officials
The following jobs require training that is provided by NWAL. You must complete the training class AND pass the exam to be a certified meet official. Training occurs ONLY in the month of April.

Computer– Runs the computer during the meets, entering times and printing off results.
Clerk of Course - In charge of seeding and organizing the swimmers in the proper swimming order including on the ready bench.
Referee - The official in charge of the swim meet. The Referee has the final decision regarding disputes involving rules and regulations.
Starter - Calls swimmers to the starting blocks and starts each heat; responsible for calling false starts.
Stroke & Turn Officials - Ensure that the swimmers perform the strokes and turns of each event correctly. They can disqualify a swimmer for using improper stroke or turn techniques.
