New Information

Rookie Camp - Starts on Tuesday. If your swimmer did not attend the safety check, coaches will be evaluating on Tuesday at 4:30.

Swimmer Ages - Please check the birthdates of your swimmers. The swimmer’s age as of May 1st first determines their group for practice and competitions.

Alert System -An important detail I forgot to mention at the meeting. We utilize the Alert System within our website. It's an sms service that sends short text messages similar to Remind via Swimtopia App. We will use this if we have to delay or cancel practice (usually weather related) or need to share information where time is of the essence. You do not need to opt-in. I sent an alert before sending this message. More information on the app below Please let me know if you didn’t get it.

Meeting Recap

Parking - For ALL swim team events in Summerwood we need to park at Summerwood Elementary School. This includes Rookie Camp, Practices, Meets, and any other swim team activity. You may drop off your swimmers/spectators at the gate and then park at the school.

Merchandise - Pre-ordering for fan apparel at

Team swimsuits will be available again for in-person purchasing on a practice night before Time Trials (date TBA based on when the local shop receives more sizes). Please note that we have very limited control over the sizes and quantities they provide, We have specifically requested the currently out-of-stock sizes and briefs in the next order. Team suits also can be purchased from Swim Outlet through our team link: www.swimoutlet.com/collections/summerwood Restocking of all sizes online is expected next week.

Practices - Click here for Stingray Practice Times Swimmers do not need to be at all practices and you do not need to inform us if your swimmer will not attend practice. No spectators "on deck" (inside the pool fence) during rookie camp/practices. You are welcome to sit outside the pool fence. It’s a great way to meet other parents. Please have swimmers ready to swim before practice starts. Practice gear for all swimmers includes fins, goggles, and a kickboard. Buoys and paddles are optional for 13 and older swimmers.

Time Trials - In a perfect world all swimmers would be able to make it for the Time Trial Meet but we know things do come up. If your swimmer is unavailable to attend please email Coach Mark to arrange for an alternate time. [email protected]

Meets - Meet signups including Time Trials will be open from Sunday - Tuesday night each week. I will send an email reminder on Sunday. For home meets the "Home Side" is the lake side of the pool. Visiting teams will set up on the parking lot side. For away meets I hope to send an email on Thursday with information on parking, concessions, payment options, and setup. Bring chairs, sunscreen, towels, (popup tents if you have one. If not, make friends with someone that does.) If you signed your swimmer up for a meet and for whatever reason can't make it please text me at 619-916-9355 and I will let the coaches know.

Volunteer Shifts - Volunteer shifts will be open for all meets on April 30th. Each family can sign up for one shift per meet at this time. Be on the lookout for Emily's email with the closing and reopening dates. Families will be allowed to sign up for additional shifts if they are available. If you have any questions or concerns about volunteer shifts please let Emily know via email [email protected]

Swimtopia app - The app uses your same login as our website. It is recommended to utilize this app during the season. The free version includes our schedule, meet results, the ability to receive team messages, sign up swimmers for meets and sign up family members to volunteer. The paid version includes live results during a swim meet. You can find a link to download the app on our homepage.
