Summerwood Stingrays vs. Greentree Gators Meet Signups are open
Good afternoon Stingrays! We are ready for our first Dual Meet this Saturday in Kingwood. (Dual meets are when two teams swim against each other.)
This Saturday we will be the visiting team to the Greentree Gators. An email will be sent out Thursday with more details but plan on check-in being approximately 7:00 am with warmups to follow. (The home team usually starts warms up before 7.)
Signup for swimmers is now open. The main difference between Time Trials and Dual Meets is swimmers can swim up to 3 personal events + relays. You may sign up your swimmers for their personal events today through Wednesday at noon. If a swimmer does not have an official time he/she can not swim the event in a dual meet. Relay teams will be formed based on times and attending participants. Click here to see a video on signing up for a Dual Meet
A list of all events can be found on page 6 of our Summerwood Stingray Handbook.
Relay Team Info - Relay teams are made up of 4 swimmers based on age groups/times. We can have up to 3 relay teams per event. (A Team, B Team, and C Team) It is extremely important you note on your swimmers signup if they are available for relays. If put on a relay team and for some reason he or she can't swim, coaches need to be told as early as possible. A relay team cannot swim without all swimmers present. We are able to replace swimmers in many cases but the change needs to happen early in the meet.
6 and under Free Relays are events events 7 and 8. Each swimmer swims one pool length of freestyle.
Medley Relays are events 9 through 18. Each swimmer will be assigned a stroke and swim one or two pool lengths based on the event. The youngest age group is 8 and under for the medleys.
Freestyle Relays wrap up the Dual Meets starting at event 71 with 7-8 boys. Each swimmer will swim one or two pool lengths of freestyle based on the event.
If you have any questions please let me know.
See you at the pool!
