Please read: Employer grants for volunteer hours AND volunteer fees paid
Good evening!
If you work for a company that donates to non-profit organizations for volunteer hours that you contribute and are willing to submit your hours on behalf of the Summerwood Stingrays, right now is great time to do it! Some companies will also match a volunteer fee as a charitable contribution. There are often time limits to submit and we are approaching the 3 month mark since the season ended.
Some companies have their own portals (ex: Exxon) set up for submission, but others may utilize Benevity. Our team is set up in Benevity now thanks to the help of parent Nathan Gorrell and our treasurer, Holli Sherrard! We already know of two companies that use this system—TC Energy and Phillips 66–and we hope you’ll check with your company. In addition to grants for volunteer hours, some companies that use Benevity also allow any family who donated financially (those that paid the volunteer fee in place of volunteering) to have that charitable donation matched by their employer!
We hope you’ll take some time to see if your company offers this benefit and submit your hours or charitable donation for a matching grant! The grants we receive from companies allow our swim team to purchase new equipment and better our swim team in many other ways.
Thank you to each and every one of you for your contributions this season! Please email if you have any questions.
