Junior Coaches

Our Junior Coaches are an important part of our team! Thank you for considering! 

Qualifications:

  • Skilled swimmer on Summerwood Stingrays
  • High School age swimmer for the younger swimmers to look up to
  • Able to provide explanations and demonstrations to younger swimmers on technical strokes
  • Desire to develop younger swimmers in their skills, sportsmanship and character

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting practice as directed by the coaches
  • At least two days per week helping the coaches with the 6U and 8U swimmers (can help with other groups as well)
  • In the water demonstrating skills and helping swimmers develop their skills
  • On deck providing guidance and explanation of strokes to swimmers
  • Helping swimmers stay focused on coaches and drills during practice
  • At meets, support and encourage younger swimmers!

Junior Coaches can accrue volunteer hours signed off by our coach, gain experience needed to be a future assistant coach and use this experience on future resumes/applications!

Junior coach volunteer hours do not fulfill the required family volunteer shifts.
