Summer Heat info!
Hi all,
Just wanted to send another note with all of the info you need for Summer Heat tomorrow! Please see the attached meet program which has more detail than I can include here. Reminder that they will have indoor setup in the cafeteria, and for 10&under session they will have a full ready bench. 11&up swimmers are expected to get themselves to the pool.
Session 1, 11&up
7:00AM - swimmers check in with Coach Hector or Coach Callie on deck at SCHS natatorium
7:30AM - swimmer warm up in lanes 1-5
9:00AM - meet start
Volunteers - thank you to all who signed up to time. We have lane 3 (2 people) and lane 6 (1 person) for first shift and lane 3 (2 people) for second shift. Shift change will be at 11:15, please be prompt to relieve the first shift timers.
Progressive relay swimmers - please arrive no later than 12:30pm and check in with coaches on deck to make sure we have our teams and can swap people out if needed! Please contact me ASAP if you cannot participate in the progressive relay anymore.
Session 2, 10&under
1:30PM - check in with Coach Hector or Coach Seth on deck at the natatorium
2:00PM - swimmer warm up in lanes 1-5
2:20PM - approximate meet start time
Volunteers - our shift is 2nd half, shift change will be at 4PM. Please be prompt to lane 4.
If your swimmer has qualified for more events after the meet today and you would like to deck enter your swimmer, here are a few things to note:
- Deck entries typically open a little before warmups begin for each session and close 45 minutes before the session starts.
- If you have a 10&under swimmer and want them to have the best chance of being able to deck enter an event, I would suggest going in the morning before session 1 instead of waiting until before session 2. It may still be possible before session 2, but there is a chance that people who have swimmers in both age groups do deck entries early so it is up to you how you want to play it.
- There must be open lanes in the event that you want to enter for a deck entry, they will not add new heats!
- Cost will be $14, either cash or check, ESA does not take any credit cards or payment apps.
- You will need to have their most recent time handy to put on the form you have to fill out, so make sure you have it accessible in Swimtopia
Since ESA is running the meet, the information about events will not be available in Swimtopia, it will be in Meet Mobile. You can download the app (I’m guessing they have some sort of free trial) or sit with a friend who does year round swim and ask to look at their app :)
Please reach out with any questions!
