Important info for Time Trials tomorrow!

Happy rainy afternoon Stingrays!

Practice today is cancelled due to the weather. This e-mail has a lot of information, please read it entirely! Also be on the lookout for the volunteer e-mail, which will be sent separately.

Time Trials are tomorrow morning. Swimmers should be onsite at 7:15 am.

Parking

Everyone should park in the Summerwood Elementary parking lot. There is no street parking available and the pool parking lot will be blocked off for residents using the other facilities or anyone that requires handicap parking. You can drop off your swimmers, spectators, and gear in the parking lot but after dropping off please follow traffic flow to head to the elementary school.

Arrival & Check-In

Check-in is at 7:15 am. Coaches will be outside the pool gate on the lake side to check in swimmers. Warm ups start at 7:40.

Each age group will swim for 5-7 minutes. Swimmers should be in the swimmers tent and be ready before their group is called. Warm ups will end around 8; we will do our team cheer and the meet will start at 8:30 am.

To help speed up the check in process, please help us by writing your children’s event numbers on their arm. If your child is 10 or under, please also write their name on their arm. This helps the tent parents, ready bench, and timer/scribe volunteers ensure the meet runs smoothly without delays.

Ready Bench Text Alerts

We are trying something new this season and sending ready bench text alerts in addition to the announcements by the DJ. To get the alerts, please text TIMETRIALS to 346-641-4885. Please let us know what you think after the meet so we can decide whether to keep it!

Events

Heat sheets are available in Swimtopia now. The heat sheets are attached to the event in Swimtopia and can be found here. Please note these are subject to change and that Swimtopia is always the most up-to-date.

Concessions/Merchandise (Cashless)

Show up hungry - we will have breakfast, snacks, lunch, and drinks items available for credit card purchase. We will also have merchandise for sale inside the gate. No cash accepted!! All sales benefit our team.

What to Bring

Swimmers need goggles, at least one towel, a lawn chair (if they have one) and have sun screen applied. Swimmers should stay in the team tent and be listening for their events. Many families bring popup tents, chairs, coolers, additional snacks, and towels.

*It is going to be quite chilly tomorrow. Please bring extra towels, blankets, etc. especially for the swimmers when they get out of the pool.*

If your swimmer or anyone in your party requires emergency medical equipment (i.e. an epi pen or inhaler) to please be sure to bring that with you.

Family Set Up

Our team typically sets up on the lake side of the pool. Since there is no visiting team tomorrow, you may set up either on the visiting team side or the lake side. We can utilize the parking lot on the pool side only, with the exception of areas that will be coned off for traffic & emergency vehicles. It will be wet/muddy, it may even rain a little, so plan accordingly - bring tarps and wear shoes you can hose off.

●Do NOT set up or park on the opposite side of the parking lot. Those spots need to remain open for resident use of the gym/lake facilities.

●Keep the roundabout open for drop-offs and traffic flow.

●Since this set-up space will be a smaller area, please consider consolidating tents and sharing with friends/neighbors.

We ask that no one set up chairs or permanently sit inside the pool gate. Walkways and stairs must remain clear for people to pass through to the bleachers, concessions, etc.

If your swimmer won't be attending but did RSVP attending please text me ASAP at (832) 260-4121 and I will let the coaches know. (My phone ringer will be off starting at 10 tonight so feel free to text anytime.)
